Week 25 review: Official Windows 11, Galaxy Z Fold3, Flip3 makes the surface
Another week has passed and it’s time to recap. Microsoft unveiled Windows 11 with a new design and smart features. Taskbar icons are now centered instead of on the left, windows have a rounded edge, updates are 40% smaller and run better in the background, and the operating system can run Android applications. This last bit is enabled through the Intel Bridge compiler, which translates non-X86 applications to run on Intel and AMD processors. Windows 11 will be released as a free update for compatible devices later this year.
The Huawei P50 series could be released on July 29. The lineup, consisting of the P50, P50 Pro, and P50 Pro +, could be largely 4G, running on the Kirin 9000 chipset. We expect all three phones to have a 1-inch main camera and a new 1-inch sensor. / 1.18 inch behind the ultra-wide camera.
Tecno has released its first premium smartphone – the Phantom X. It has a 50 MP main camera, a 4,700 mAh battery with a 33 W charge and a Helio G95 chip. The phone will be released next month.
A few Samsung related stories have come out. We first saw the official renderings of the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3. The Z Fold3 appears to have a hole-punch camera on its interior display, contradicting reports of an under-display camera. The next Fold will apparently support the S Pen as well.
The Galaxy M32 is now official. True to its heritage, it comes with a massive 6,000mAh battery, complemented by a 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED and a low starting price – INR 14,999 for the 4/64 GB model.
Rumor has it that the Galaxy S22 and S22 + will get 50 MP main cameras and a proper 3x 12 MP zoom camera – more cropping on a regular 64 MP zoom camera.
We also saw renderings of the expected Galaxy Watch Active4 with Wear OS in August. The watch does not have a rotating bezel and has flat sides, instead of the rounded sides of the current Galaxy Watch Active2.
US pre-orders for the Sony Xperia 1 III are slated to begin July 1 for $ 1,300. At least early adopters could expect some sort of premium headphone pack.
The operating system will now remember the exact size and position of each application on your monitors.
Most of the P50 series will be 4G only.
And that’s a large 1 / 1.3 “sensor on the back, joined by a 50mm portrait camera and an ultra-wide module. There’s also an ultra-wide selfie camera.
The first sales in India begin on June 28.
